Celebration of Life service for Michael Montalto, 73, of Reeds Spring, Mo., will be held July 20, 2019, 1:30 p.m., at the Stonebridge Village Club House, Lake Room, 1600 Ledgestone Way, Reeds Spring, Mo. 65737, with Pastor Mark Hunsaker officiating. A second service will be held July 27, 2019, 10 a.m., at Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Rd., Kansas City, Mo. 64156, outdoor chapel of the mausoleum. Services were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. 

He died July 1, 2019. 

Michael was born on July 19, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo., son of Augustino “Gus” and Juanita Belgiere Montalto. He grew up in Kansas City, Mo. where he graduated from St. Pius X High School and then attended the University of Mo., earning a Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, in 1972. For many years, he opened and managed his own practice in Blue Springs, Mo., before moving to Reeds Spring, in 2000. He retired from Mercy Hospital, in Branson, Mo. In retirement, he began a woodworking business. He attended the Praise and Worship Church, in Branson. He enjoyed woodworking, sailing, reading, cycling and cheering on Kansas City sports teams.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Joline Montalto, of the home; previous wife, Mary Johnson; sons, James Montalto (Gina), of Lenexa, Kan., Mark Montalto (Jamie), of Overland Park, Kan. and Michael Montalto (Rachel), of Colorado Springs, Co.; step-children, Paul Logan (Stefanie), of Kansas City, Mo. and Tina Fortner (Jeff), of Washington, Mo.; brother, Gus Montalto, Jr. and sister, Nadine Cacioppo, both of Kansas City, Mo. and eleven grandchildren.
