Visitation service for Jackie (Jack) R. Scott, 85, of Nixa, Mo., will be held June 2, 2019, 2-4 p.m., in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Mo., with funeral services June 3, 2019, 10 a.m., in the funeral home with Tim Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Schupbach Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Mo.

He died May 28, 2019. 

Jack was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Celina, Texas, son of General and Alma Scott. He was raised in Pomona, Calif. since the age of seven. He was united in marriage to Eva Bradford Aug. 20, 1955, in the Pomona Church of God. They became missionaries in 1956 to Honduras and then Costa Rica. They returned to Calif. after serving three years. He taught at the Church of God Elementary School and later went to work as a social worker for the State of Calif. at the Chino Juvenile Detention Center. After ten years, he transferred to the rehabilitation department where he finished his career. After retiring, they moved to the mid-west to be close to family. He published books and family stories. He was a member of James River Church and served as an usher. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Bernice, Orville, Arthur Dale, Billy, Glen and Toy.

Survivors include his wife; son, Tim; former daughter-in-law, Dana Scott and two grandchildren.
