Body bequest of Peggy Lynn (Riley) VerMeulen, 67, of Branson, was donated to the Genesis program in Memphis, Tenn. 

She died Dec. 22, 2018.

Peggy was born May 7, 1951, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of Russell Hall and Magene Mitchell Riley. Since 1985, she lived in Branson. 

She grew up in Ladue at a time when there were open fields with horses next door and the ability to roam the creeks and woods. She used her artistic gifts as a substitute at Craig Elementary School and volunteered at the St. Louis Zoo. She was known for her menageries of lost and lonely animals and wounded finches. Growing up, she loved her summers in Leland, Mich. When she lived in St. Louis, she was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and loved Bible Study Fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; siblings, Donna Hearne, Ron Riley, Ruth Grote and Phyllis Horner and one great-granddaughter, Amelia Kumming.

Survivors include her children, Kim (Ted) Acup, Michelle (Bryan) Snowden and James Williams and 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
