Two local nonprofits are teaming up to provide a warm place for people to get out of the elements and find a warm meal.
The Salvation Army of Branson and Selfless Blessings of Hollister will operate an overnight winter weather shelter at The Salvation Army’s Corps Community Center located at 1114 Stanley Blvd. The overnight shelter will open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, and remain open until 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7.
A hot dinner and breakfast will be provided.
“We know that the number of individuals exposed to the elements and without proper shelter is limited, but we want to open our doors to the few that are without the needed shelter,”said Lt. Shawn DeBaar, Salvation Army corps officer. “We are glad to partner with other organizations like Selfless Blessings to assist our neighbors in need.”
The Salvation Army will provide their facilities for the overnight shelter and Selfless Blessings will be arranging volunteers, bedding materials, and food for the meals.
