Two people have been taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield after an unattended vehicle in Hollister rolled near the intersection of Church Road and Evergreen Street Tuesday afternoon, according to City Administrator Rick Ziegenfuss.

Western Taney County Fire Protection District reported that just before 4 p.m. firefighters, along with Hollister police and Taney County Ambulance District personnel responded to an incident where a woman was trapped under the rear axle of a minivan which had come to rest against a tree in the roadway ditch. The fire district reported that they used airbags to lift the van off the woman. According to Western Taney County, a child was also injured in the incident, however the fire district was unaware of how the child was injured in the incident.

Ziegenfuss said he'd received word that both the woman and female child had been transported to Cox Medical Center South for treatment. He said he had been informed both were alert.

Both the woman and the child were transported to Cox Medical Center South, he said. Both were reportedly alert at the time.
