Four Lawrence County residents were injured in a boat explosion this (Saturday) afternoon on Table Rock Lake.

In the online incident report, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 1995 Cuddy Cabin Boat had just finished fueling at Kings River Marina in Shell Knob, when it exploded and caught fire when the driver of the boat turned the key to start the boat. 

Four people onboard the vessel during the incident, Norman Tudor, 63, and Felicia Tudor, 62, both of Verona and Kenneth Zielinski, 59, and Virginia Zielinski, 55, both of Aurora, were all transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield to be treated for their respective moderate and minor injuries, according to the incident report. 

In a press release, the Central Crossing Fire Protection District of Shell Knob said they were dispatched to the boat explosion at about 1:15 p.m. The fire was under control in approximately 15 minutes and all units were clear of the scene by 2:20 p.m. 

One of the injured boat occupants were transported via helicopter and two were transported by ambulance. A fifth individual, not named in the MSHP incident report, was also near the boat at the time of the explosion, according to the press release.  

Mutual aid was also provided at the scene by the Eagle Rock Golden Mano Fire Department, Mercy EMS, Mercy Lifeline, Missouri Department of Conservation, Barry County Sheriff’s Office and Barry County E-911, the press release stated.
