Taney County holds off on public defender co-op

Lease rates increase for government

FORSYTH — Taney County commissioners are balking at a state agreement requiring the county to pay for a portion of the cost of leasing office space for public defenders who represent defendants in court.

The county is part of a cooperative agreement with Christian and Greene counties costing a total of $129,000 a year.
